| Project : | Thermal desorption of 20,000 tons of mineral oil, PAH and BTEX contaminated soil by means of mobile thermal desorption |
| Date : | July 2001 to December 2001 |
| Budget : | 500,000 - 1,000,000 € |
The site to clean was the storage tankpark of raw oil at Nynas refinery. All tanks had to been lifted above 2 m and the excavated material was stored outside. Deep Green was contracted for the thermal desorption for the TPH, PAH and BTEX contaminated soil...
Clean-up goals:
The soil to treat was contaminated at an average of 3500 ppm mineral oil and with low levels of PAH (max 70 ppm).. All clean-up standards for clean soil were met.
Results of stack test:
The project started with a DRAGON 15 unit until May 2001. Early May, a second unit, DRAGON 35, was added to finish the project on time. Stack tests were performed on both units on site. Both units were equipped with continuous emissions monitoring.
Equipement:
The project started with a DRAGON 15 unit running on natural gas. 4 Stack tests were successfully performed on the unit. The unit was equipped with continuous emissions monitoring...
