Project : Low Temperature Thermal Desorption of TPH contaminated soil from various gas stations in Southern California
Date : October 1995 thru March 2004
Quantity : > 300,000 tons

Site History:

CHEVRON owns and operates a large quantity of gas stations in Southern California. In accordance with their general environmental policies, as well as California State regulations, those gas stations need to be cleaned-up and put in accordance with current legislation. Therefore, CHEVRON has remediated over 150 gas stations in Southern California in the last 10 years, where the TPH contaminated soil was sent for thermal treatment to the Adelanto (CA) facility, owned and operated by Deep Green / TPS Technologies.

Equipement:

Contaminated soils were processed by a counter flow, direct fired LTDU (Low Temperature Desorption Unit) with nominal capacity of 70 tons (US) per hour. The equipment train included a pre-screener, belt scale conveyor, rotary dryer, fabric filter baghouse, thermal oxidizer, soil moisturizer, and radial stacker. Natural Gas was used as process fuel.
