| Client : | BAIL INDUSTRIE (Group ARCELOR) |
| Project : | Thermal desorption of 50,000 tons of PAH, THP C10-C40 and cyanide contaminated soils thanks to a mobile installation |
| Duration : | From May 2003 |
Bail Industrie, exclusive operator for the environmental treatment of the old sites of the Arcelor Group, manages the operations of decontamination of the old dump of Neuves-Maisons, formerly exploited by Usinor. Deep Green was selected for the on-site thermal desorption treatment of PAH, THP and CN contaminated soils. The CEP Group carries out the operations of sifting and handling in collaboration with Deep Green.
Clean-up goals:
The soils to be treated held concentrations in PAH and THP of about 10 000 ppm; they contained CN peaks of 3 900 ppm. The levels of decontamination to be reached are fixed at 20 ppm for the total of the PAH. All clean soils are under the clean-up target after treatment. All the standards of cleansing are also respected.
Equipement:
The project is now done with the mobile DRAGON 35 unit, in a hot plant set-up. Stack tests are regularly performed and are supervised by the DRIRE and an external independant consultant working directly for the client (Arcelor). The unit is equipped with Continuous Emissions Monitoring systems. The regulations of the decree, the “Arrêté Préfectoral”, are met.
