our activity

Deep Green is a specialist in the cleaning of heavily polluted soil. We concentrate our business on thermal desorption treatment, a technology in which we have achieved a unique level of expertise within Europe.

By heating the soil pollutants are vaporised and the resulting gases are then treated in an oxidizer. The result is guaranteed clean and re-usable soil.

Deep Green currently operates in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Spain.

our Mission

Deep Green contributes to a clean future, both for the environment as well as for our customers, who will be freed from all (future) liabilities for their polluted soils, once treated in the thermal installations of Deep Green.

Our ambition is to be number one in our market in Europe. This will be achieved through a network of treatment facilities, supported by an effective logistic organisation. Investments will be made in our current as well as in new technology (see: Thermopile©), to continuously improve our solutions, focusing on customer problems and cost-reduction.

our History

Deep Green was founded in 1999 by Jan Haemers, who at that time already had a large experience in soil remediation in his responsibility for the development of this business for some large waste management companies.

In 2001 the market in the USA was entered through the acquisition of TPS Technologies, which was in business already since 1989. The main objective was to leverage the experience, technology and processes of the more mature USA market to Europe. In 2006 most of the USA business has been sold again, as the objectives had been achieved and it was decided to have the strategic focus on the growing markets of Europe.

A first step in this strategy was the acquisition of the thermal plant of Sita remediation in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in November 2006. This installation is unique in Europe in its capability to treat high polluted soils, even with high concentrations of PCB's and dioxins.
